Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been crowned the NFL's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2023 season, becoming the second-youngest man to win the award multiple times.

The 27-year-old - who was also bestowed with the honour in 2019 - won the prize by a landslide, garnering 49 of the 50 first-placed votes, with the other going to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Jackson earned a mammoth 493 points to take home the award, while Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was second with 152, and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey took third place with 149.

At 27 years of age, Jackson has overtaken Brett Favre and Patrick Mahomes to become the second-youngest double MVP winner in NFL history, only older than a 23-year-old Jim Brown.

The former Louisville college star finished the campaign with more rushing yards than any other quarterback with 821, while also achieving a 102.7 passer rating and 24-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Thanks to Jackson's efforts, the Ravens finished atop the AFC North rankings and beat the Houston Texans in their Divisional playoff encounter, before suffering defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

The Chiefs will defend their Super Bowl title on Sunday, arriving at Allegiant Stadium to battle NFC Championship winners San Francisco 49ers. body check tags ::
