Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King has insisted that the window for the franchise to win an NBA championship is ultimately this season.
Having acquired the likes of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in the summer, the Nets have taken a big financial gamble for immediate gain.
"Now, this is the window — this season," King said, according to ESPN New York. "We're going to see what we can do with this season, and then we'll see what next season brings."
With Deron Williams and Brook Lopez forming part of a formidable roster, Brooklyn will be expectant of a successful year under new head coach Jason Kidd despite the risk involved.
