Brooklyn Nets small forward Paul Pierce has said that he could play against his former team, the Boston Celtics, in the NBA on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old was expected to be out for between two and four weeks after breaking the third metacarpal bone in his right hand during his side's game against the Houston Rockets last month.
A number of media outlets in the US have reported that Pierce said that there is "a good chance" that he will feature against the Celtics after practising on Monday.
Point guard Deron Williams, who has been sidelined since November 20 with a sprained ankle, also practised on Monday and could feature against the Celtics.
