Sports Mole rounds up an action-packed night of NBA basketball on Tuesday, where several records were broken.

Tuesday's seven-game fixture list in the NBA saw multiple records broken on a big night for several individuals.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mo Williams set a new league season-high for points and a personal career-high by pouring in 52 against the Indiana Pacers on 19-33 shooting.

His total, which is a franchise record and surpassed the previous season-high of 46 by Carmelo Anthony and Pau Gasol, also helped the Timberwolves end a 15-game losing streak as they won 110-101 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks' impressive form continued with a 105-87 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers - their ninth win in a row and 23rd in 25 games.

With key players Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague and DeMarre Carroll rested in a stretch of four games in five nights, Al Horford stepped up with his first career triple-double, notching 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Wells Fargo Center.

LeBron James made his return from a two-week absence for the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Phoenix Suns, but he couldn't inspire the team to victory as they suffered their sixth straight defeat.

Markieff Morris had a career-high 35 points on 15-21 shooting, while James had 33 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

At Sleep Train Arena, the Dallas Mavericks avoided a third consecutive defeat by rallying from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter and then winning 108-104 in overtime against the Sacramento Kings.

DeMarcus Cousins was one assist shy of a triple-double for Kings (32 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists), but committed nine turnovers and fouled out late in the fourth quarter to miss the extra period.

The Golden State Warriors joined the Hawks in reaching 30 wins this season and improved their NBA-best record to 30-5 with a 116-105 victory over the Utah Jazz.

MVP candidate Stephen Curry had 27 points and 11 assists to help Golden State win their seventh game in a row.

The Washington Wizards beat the San Antonio Spurs for the first time since 2005 with a 101-93 triumph at Verizon Center.

John Wall had 25 points and eight assists, but it was a season-high 17 points, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter, from Kevin Seraphin that swung the tie in the Wizards' favour.

In the day's final game, the Miami Heat edged out the Los Angeles Lakers 78-75 in a low-scoring meeting to win back-to-back matches for the first time since November 23.

Mario Chalmers scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter and added nine assists to help the Heat over the line.
