Thailand's Kaeo Pongprayoon has sealed a place in the quarter-finals with victory over Ecuadorian light flyweight Carlos Quipo Pilataxi.

The first round was very tight, with neither man really finding their accuracy. It was the Thai who got his nose in front by one point heading into the second.

Pongprayoon extended his lead by a point in the second with some rapid hand speed. He worked well to the body with short bursts of punches.

Pilataxi tried desperately to change the flow of the fight but could not find an answer to Pongprayoon's swift footwork and speedy attacks.

The judges handed the Thai a 10-6 victory.
