Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte split 'confirmed by WBC'

The WBC reportedly rule that heavyweight champion Tyson Fury should receive 80% of the purse for his clash against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.

The WBC has reportedly ruled in favour of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury with regards to the purse split for his bout with Dillian Whyte.

After prevailing from his trilogy showdown with Deontay Wilder, Fury has been ordered to square off against Whyte, who has waited several years since initially being in line to fight for the world title.

However, as a result of Whyte and promoter Eddie Hearn opting to go the arbitration route to ensure that the challenger gets his shot, there has been a delay in proceeding with negotiations.

Hearn has recently insisted that any discussions are pointless until a decision is made regarding the purse split, with the two camps at opposite ends of the scale with their demands.

Whyte has allegedly been asking for a 45% split but according to the Daily Star, the WBC has ruled that he will receive the bare minimum of 20%.

While the report adds that the relevant parties have until January 11 to agree financial terms, Hearn has already said that he will go to purse bids if Whyte does not receive what he feels that he deserves. body check tags ::
