Scott Quigg: 'I'd turn down Leo Santa Cruz for Carl Frampton rematch'

British super-bantamweight Scott Quigg says that he would turn down a clash with Leo Santa Cruz in order to secure a rematch with Carl Frampton.

Scott Quigg has suggested that he will do whatever it takes to secure a rematch with Carl Frampton, whether that be at super-bantamweight or featherweight.

Frampton prevailed on points when the two met in a world super-bantamweight unification clash in Manchester in February, with the Northern Irishman now just a week away from facing WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz in New York.

Quigg is still recovering from the broken jaw that he suffered during his first professional defeat but he has said that he wants a second bout with Frampton as soon as possible.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I know what I want and what drives me and that is the one I want. Whether it's the next fight, the one after or in the next four or five fights, everything I do now will work towards it.

"Frampton could lose to Santa Cruz - and I do believe he will get beaten - and Santa Cruz could offer me a fight but I would turn it down because I want to fight Frampton.

"That's what I want to do and, until that is put right, that is my focus. I want to win a world title and make sure people want to see it again - and I will do whatever I have to do."

Quigg is due to return to the ring towards the end of the year, with promoter Eddie Hearn previously suggesting that he would be involved in a high-profile fight.
