Jonathan Trott receives criticism from David Warner following his two dismissals at the hands of Mitchell Johnson.

Australian batsman David Warner has described Jonathan Trott's performance against the bowling of Mitchell Johnson as "pretty poor and pretty weak".

The English batsman fell to the Australian for just nine runs earlier today and the same bowler claimed his wicket in the first innings for 10.

Having posted a century during Australia's second innings in Brisbane, Warner went on to be dismissive of Trott's display.

"It does look like they've got scared eyes at the moment," he told reporters. "The way Trotty got out today was pretty poor and pretty weak. Obviously there is a weakness there and we're on top of it at the moment.

"He's probably worked hard in the nets on the short ball, but trying to face 150 kmh short ball from Mitch Johnson the way to go is probably not trying to back away."

England will return on day four needing to score 537 runs to win the opening Ashes Test.
