Stuart Broad answer the Australian boos with two more wickets in the second session of the first Ashes Test match in Brisbane.

The second session of the first Ashes Test match in Brisbane has gone England's way, with Stuart Broad taking four wickets to leave Australia stuttering on 153-6 at tea.

The 27-year-old has been targeted by the Aussie fans following his refusal to walk during the infamous Test at Trent Bridge, but has led the charge at The Gabba with aplomb.

He took the vital wicket of Shane Watson (22) just before lunch, and the skipper Michael Clarke followed not long after the resumption, as he was sent back to the pavilion for just one run.

David Warner had seen a bright start somewhat curtailed by the tourists' seam attack, and his frustrations came to a head when he went swiping to Broad outside off stump.

Kevin Pietersen took the catch to see the batsman fall one run short of his half-century.

James Anderson picked up his first wicket of the series, with Alastair Cook taking a good catch to remove George Bailey (3), before Chris Tremlett presented his captain with a simple catch to see off Steve Smith (31).

That left the home side 132-6, but Brad Haddin (24) and Mitchell Johnson (12) have put on 21 runs since and will resume at the crease after tea.
