Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali has said that he is "pleased" with his performance on day two of the third Test against England at Edgbaston.
Azhar formed a formidable second-wicket partnership with Sami Aslam to put his side in control of the contest before going on to register a score of 139.
However, his innings ended on a sour note when he edged the final delivery of the day to Alastair Cook in the slips to leave the tourists on 257-3.
"It was a hard-working day but unfortunately I couldn't finish it off. The last ball is always nervy - it was a loose shot. But I'm really pleased that I got a hundred today," he told Sky Sports News.
"You come to England and you always want to perform. The reputation is we don't perform in English conditions and you want to prove that wrong.
"A lot of credit to the coaches. They have been working hard with me in the nets and also mentally."
Pakistan trail England by 40 runs heading into day three.
