New Zealand lose four key wickets by tea on day three of the second Test against England at Headingley.

England have chipped away at the New Zealand top order before tea on day three of the second Test at Headingley.

Starting the session with a seven-run lead after bowling England out for 350, New Zealand headed in for tea 143 runs ahead on 143-4.

The tourists lost their first wicket of the afternoon towards the end of the sixth over when Tom Latham was dismissed by Stuart Broad for just three.

Broad took another key New Zealand wicket again soon after, dismissing Kane Williamson for six.

However, Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor countered aggressively at the crease to get some valuable runs on the board for the visitors.

Their partnership was eventually broken when Taylor was caught by Ben Stokes off the bowling of Mark Wood, two runs shy of his half-century.

Guptil managed to push passed the 50-run mark, but he was sent back to the pavilion for 70 towards the end of the session as Wood claimed another victim.

Brendon McCullum (eight not out) and BJ Watling (two not out) will resume out in the middle when play continues.
