India have a lead of 244 runs by reaching tea on 108-5 in their second innings after removing South Africa for 79 on day two of the third Test in Nagpur.

India are in control of the third Test against South Africa as they have reached tea with a lead of 244 runs after skittling out their opponents for just 79.

The Proteas began play on 11-2 after removing India for 215 on day one of the contest in Nagpur.

The tourists were undone by spin as Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took five and four wickets respectively in the morning session.

Seventy-nine runs is the lowest total that India have ever dismissed a team for at Test level as Jean-Paul Duminy top-scored with 35 off 65 balls.

India were dealt a blow at the start of their second innings as Murali Vijay was dismissed by Morne Morkel inside the fifth over with just five runs on the board.

Cheteshwar Pujara was the next to fall as he was bowled out by Duminy for 31, while Shikhar Dhawan (39), Virat Kohli (16) and Ajinkya Rahane (9) were undone by Imran Tahir's deliveries.

Despite losing some key batsmen, India's performance with the ball made sure that they will have a healthy lead heading into the last session of the day.

The hosts are on 108-5 with Wriddhiman Saha and Rohit Sharma at the crease.
