New Zealand complete a 2-1 series win after sealing a 53-run victory over the West Indies on the final day of the third Test.

New Zealand have secured a 2-1 series win over the West Indies after bowling the hosts out for 254 on the final day of the third Test in Barbados.

The tourists declared at the start of the day to leave the West Indies needing 308 for victory, nine runs fewer than they scored in their first innings.

However, the hosts struggled in the morning session, with Chris Gayle (11) among three wickets to fall before lunch, and the wickets continued to tumble in the afternoon as they were reduced to 161-7 at tea.

Jason Holder and Shane Shillingford provided some resistance at the start of the evening session as they tried to reach the victory target, but their partnership was halted after 77 runs when Holder was bowled by Mark Craig shortly after completing a half-century on his Test debut.

Sulieman Benn followed just a couple of overs later for 10, before Trent Boult sealed the victory for the tourists by trapping Jerome Taylor lbw, leaving the hosts 53 runs short of their target.

The series win is New Zealand's first away from home since they defeated the West Indies in the Caribbean in 2002.
