Pakistan's Shoaib Malik clobbers a six from the penultimate-but-one ball to win the first Twenty20 international against India by five wickets.

Pakistan came through a topsy-turvy innings to edge out India with two balls to spare in the first Twenty20 international in Bangalore.

The tourists bowled well to restrict India to 133-9 from their 20 overs, with Umar Gul the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets from three overs for 21 runs.

India's two openers, Ajinkya Rahane and Gautam Gambhir, made the bulk of the Indian scoring, notching 42 and 43 respectively with the wood.

The target looked an easy one to chase but Pakistan began shakily and were at one point 12-3 because of three early wickets for Pragyan Ojha.

However, Shoaib Malik (57*) and Mohammad Hafeez (61) guided Pakistan towards the winning margin.

Malik was the man at the crease for the 118th ball and, with six runs required from the final three balls, he clobbered a six straight down the ground to clinch victory.

The encounter was the first match between the two sides in a non-neutral venue since 2007.
