PDC world number one Michael van Gerwen and three-time Lakeside champion Martin Adams will meet in the group stages of the Grand Slam of Darts.

Michael van Gerwen has been drawn to face Martin Adams in the group stages of the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

The PDC world number one and the three-time Lakeside champion will meet on the opening day of the cross-code tournament, with Group A being completed by Brendan Dolan and Max Hopp.

Reigning PDC world champion Gary Anderson has been drawn alongside BDO number one Glen Durrant, Alan Norris and Nathan Derry, while Phil Taylor will play Ian White, Darren Webster and Darryl Fitton.

Former finalists James Wade and Dave Chisnall feature in arguably the toughest group after being drawn alongside James Wilson and Jamie Hughes.

2012 winner Raymond van Barneveld faces the in-form Mensur Suljovic, Nathan Aspinall and Danny Noppert.
