Marco Reus: 'Arsenal took their chances'

Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus admits that Arsenal's clinical edge made the difference on Wednesday night.

Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus has admitted that Arsenal's ability to take their big chance made all the difference in his side's 1-0 home defeat in Group F of the Champions League.

Reus said that both sides ensured they were tight in defence, and for Arsenal to take the points in what he thought should have been a 0-0 draw was a huge blow for Dortmund.

"It's fair to say the more effective team won today," UEFA.com quotes Reus as saying. "It was a hard-fought encounter without many chances. A lot of the game took place in midfield and there were a lot of misplaced passes. We weren't incisive enough and we lacked that little bit of extra determination. Even so, we shouldn't have lost the match.

"They kept it compact in the areas we like to operate in, but we kept it tight at the back too. In truth it was a typical 0-0 game, but Arsenal have come away with the three points. We need to win both our final two games now and beat Napoli by two goals, but it's still in our hands."

Dortmund are third in the group with six points, behind both Arsenal and Napoli who are on nine.
