Arsenal are reportedly still locked in talks with Sampdoria regarding the future of Lucas Torreira.
Torreira, 22, joined Sampdoria from Pescara in 2015, and made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit last term - scoring four goals in the process.
The midfielder was also in action for Uruguay at the 2018 World Cup, and played the full 90 minutes of their 2-1 defeat to France in the quarter-finals of the competition on Friday afternoon.
According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal are continuing to hold talks with Sampdoria over a transfer, and the deal could be accelerated following Uruguay's defeat in the last eight of the World Cup.
New Arsenal boss Unai Emery has already signed Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Bernd Leno since arriving at the club.
