Arsenal have reportedly informed Aaron Ramsdale that they are not interested in selling him this season but are willing to let him leave the Emirates Stadium next summer.

Ramsdale joined Arsenal in August 2021 from Sheffield United and has made 86 appearances in all competitions, keeping 32 clean sheets in that time.

The 25-year-old's performances for The Gunners earned him a spot in Gareth Southgate's squad for the FIFA World Cup last year, but he has lost his place as the starting goalkeeper for his club this season to summer signing David Raya.

According to 90min, while Arsenal are not actively looking to offload the England international in the January transfer window without having a replacement lined up, they will allow him to leave the club at the end of the season if he pushes for an exit.

The report adds that Ramsdale was firm in his belief that he would regain his spot as Arsenal's number one, but it is understood that he would now ideally like to pursue regular first-team football elsewhere.

The Arsenal goalkeeper is believed to have been on the radar of London rivals Chelsea, while there has also been reported interest from several clubs in the bottom half of the Premier League, including Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have been enquiring about potential replacements for Jose Sa.

Raya was forced to sit out last weekend's match against his parent club Brentford, which afforded Ramsdale a rare start, but despite keeping a clean sheet, the English shot-stopper received criticism for some relatively poor distribution in the match.

Ramsdale is still under contract with The Gunners until 2026, with the option of an additional year.
