Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi has joined Wigan Athletic on a season–long loan deal.
The 19-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, had been expected to challenge for a spot in the club's first team in the new campaign.
However, he will join up with the Latics ahead of the start of the Premier League season this weekend.
Miyaichi made his full debut for Japan in May.
