Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly giving serious consideration to making a move for Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry in the upcoming transfer window.

The 28-year-old winger, capable of playing on either flank, is experiencing a challenging season under Thomas Tuchel, leading to uncertainty regarding his future.

Gnabry came through the ranks at Arsenal but struggled to cement his place in the Premier League before securing a permanent transfer to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen in 2016.

However, the winger spent only one season with the River Islanders before earning a significant move to Bayern Munich. He has since made nearly 250 appearances for the Bundesliga giants but has found himself slipping down the pecking order in recent times.

The German's contract with the Bavarians does not expire until the end of the 2025-26 season, but a recent report suggests that he could move on at the end of the current campaign.

Spurs to sign former Arsenal man?

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur hold a 'concrete interest' in the German international and could make a move to sign him in the upcoming transfer market.

The report adds that Bayern are prepared to sell the 28-year-old at the end of this season after making just 17 appearances across all competitions this term.

It is also understood that the winger possesses many of the qualities that Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou admires, given his ability to play effectively in various attacking positions.

The Lilywhites have made notable strides forward in recent transfer markets, investing approximately £230m this season alone.

Following the departure of Harry Kane, significant sums have been spent by Spurs over the past year to bring in the likes of Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham chasing Champions League qualification

With these player acquisitions, the London club have emerged as one of the success stories in the Premier League this season and are still firmly in contention for Champions League qualification.

As a result, it is unsurprising that they are expected to bolster their squad further in the off-season and Gnabry could be an excellent addition to their ranks given his previous experience playing in North London with the Gunners.

Spurs are currently in fifth place in the Premier League standings, trailing Aston Villa in the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot by three points, although they do have a game in hand on the Villans.

Postecoglou's side will look to close that deficit next weekend when they play host to cross-town rivals Arsenal in the North London derby.
