Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's Scottish League One action as Stirling Albion edged a thrilling encounter with Stenhousemuir.

Stirling Albion came out on top after a nine-goal thriller that ended 5-4 against Stenhousemuir in Scottish League One this afternoon.

Stenhousemuir took an early lead against Albion with Bryan Hodge's goal on 16 minutes, but Craig Wedderburn then equalised for the away side on the 30th minute. Sean Dickson doubled Stenhousemuir's tally to put the home side ahead moments before half time but Gordon Smith then equalised once again for Stirling after 54 minutes.

The scores were only level for two minutes though, as Sandy Cunningham immediately put the away side ahead. Darrell Smith then made it 4-2 with 25 minutes remaining to give Stirling a foothold in the game for the first time, but Bryan Hodge then pulled another goal back for Stenhousemuir to bring the home side right back in it.

Stirling's Smith then doubled his tally for the day to make it 5-3 and regain Stirling's two-goal lead. Stenhousemuir wanted the final say in the match though and it was Craig Comrie's 90th-minute own goal that completed the scoring.

Brechin City's Colin Hamilton opened the scoring after 18 minutes before Craig Molloy doubled their lead on the 24th minute in their match against Stranraer. A second-half comeback then saw Adam Forde pull one back early into the second half before Stephen Stirling equalised with the final kick of the match to make it 2-2.

Airdrieonians were hammered 3-0 at Dumfermline Athletic after a 24th-minute goal from Gozie Ugwa opened the scoring. Dunfermline doubled their lead through Michael Moffat with just four minutes remaining of the first half and Ugwa doubled his tally and put the game to bed with 10 minutes to go to make it 3-0.

Greenock Morton edged a tight encounter at Peterhead this afternoon. The visitors took an early second-half lead through Stefan Milojevic on the 47th minute, but the lead only lasted until the 66th minute as Rory McAllister's penalty levelled the scoring for Morton. Thomas O'Ware then won the match in dramatic fashion for the away side with an 89th-minute winner, making it 2-1.

Ayr United went top of League One with a 2-0 win against Forfar. Scott McLaughlin's double in the final five minutes of the match secured all three points for the home side.

Results in full: Ayr United 2-0 Forfar, Dunfermline 3-0 Airdrieonians, Peterhead 1-2 Greenock Morton, Stenhousemuir 4-5 Stirling Albion, Stranraer 2-2 Brechin
