Munir El Haddadi has admitted that his mouth "fell open" when he learned that he had been called up to the Spain squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia.
The Barcelona teenager earned a late call-up to Vicente del Bosque's side after Chelsea striker Diego Costa was forced to pull out with a hamstring injury.
The young striker told reporters: "When they told me, my mouth fell open. It's a dream to play for the Spain team and I'm very happy.
"I've realised a dream. It's a moment I want to enjoy, an opportunity to take, and to give my best.
"I've followed the national team every summer that they have played since I was small, and now I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me at every turn."
The 19-year-old scored in Barcelona's opening La Liga match of the season, having netted four goals in their pre-season fixtures.
