Ivan Rakitic 'to remain with Barcelona'

Ivan Rakitic will not be leaving Barcelona in this summer's transfer window despite offers for his services, according to a report.

Ivan Rakitic will reportedly not be leaving Barcelona in this summer's transfer window.

The 31-year-old will see his current deal at Camp Nou expire in little under two years, and it has been reported that the Croatia international could be on his way out of the club this summer.

Manchester United were linked with the midfielder in the latter stages of the English transfer window, while Juventus have been credited with an interest in recent days.

According to Marca, Barca have received offers for the former Sevilla captain this summer, but Rakitic will not be leaving the Spanish champions before the European transfer window closes on September 2.

The report claims that Rakitic's desire to stay is the driving force behind the decision, with Barca happy to honour the Croatian's wishes.

The 2018 World Cup finalist has scored 34 times in 269 appearances for the Spanish champions since arriving from Sevilla in the summer of 2014.
