German champions Bayern Munich have denied that they have struck a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign striker Robert Lewandowski.
There have been strong rumours in recent days that Lewandowski had followed Mario Gotze in joining the Bavarian outfit, with the agent of Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes claiming that a deal had been done.
However, Bayern have issued a brief statement on their website denying that they had agreed to sign the Poland international.
The statement said: "Bayern would like to respond to various rumours regarding Robert Lewandowski and wants to clarify - FC Bayern has not agreed a contract with Robert Lewandowski."
The striker bagged all four of his side's goals in the recent win over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.
