Blackpool manager Paul Ince has expressed his concern following a pitch invasion that ensued after his side's League Cup defeat to Preston North End.
A number of Preston fans stormed the pitch on the final whistle of last night's 1-0 victory over the Championship outfit at Deepdale.
Following the scenes, Ince believes that more must be done by the authorities to protect footballers from similar situations.
"I understand that fans get excited, but who knows what can happen," BBC Sport quotes Ince as saying. "We're not listening. Has someone got to be stabbed before we listen?"
A steward was trampled by a police horse during the invasion, but the man in question is said to have been unharmed.
