Borussia Dortmund youngster Jonas Hofmann has declared that he will stay and fight for a first-team place this season following a match-winning cameo from the bench last weekend.
Hofmann's impact as a substitute helped Jurgen Klopp's side maintain their 100% start in the Bundesliga, with the winger breaking the deadlock before winning a penalty in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig.
The 21-year-old told Bild: "There was never any question of me leaving Dortmund. I am optimistic, and I must hope now I stay injury free and get my chance again.
"The game could not have gone any better. The fact I scored in front of the Sudtribune made it even hotter. I could hardly sleep after the game!"
Klopp signed Hofman as a teenager from Hoffenheim in 2011, with the German youth international making his debut for Dortmund last December.
