Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keen on Jose Mourinho becoming their new head coach.

The Portuguese has been without a managerial position since being sacked by Manchester United last year.

Mourinho has since been undergoing media work, but the 56-year-old has consistently stated that he wants to return to a coaching position when the right job becomes available.

According to Bild, Mourinho has been in regular contact with Dortmund, and the former midfielder is already learning to speak German ahead of a potential move to the Bundesliga.

The report claims that there has already been a line of communication between the Portuguese and Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke, although the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss would need to accept a huge drop in salary in order to move to BVB.

Lucien Favre has only been in charge at Signal Iduna Park since May 2018 but there are suggestions that the club are already considering his future.
