Callum Wilson delighted with Bournemouth return

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is delighted to have made his return from a seven-month injury layoff during the closing stages of the win over Aston Villa.

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has spoken of his delight at making his return from a long-term injury during Saturday's 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined for the last seven months due to ligament damage, but was handed a brief cameo at the end of his side's win at Villa Park yesterday.

Wilson revealed that he was desperate to make his return after being called upon by manager Eddie Howe, and thanked the Bournemouth fans for their support during the match.

"The manager called me in and asked me if I felt ready, and that was like asking a kid if they want sweets! I was raring to go, so I went straight home to get my stuff," Wilson told the club's official website.

"I had a feeling I would get on. I kept seeing the clock run down and corners going on, the ball not going out of play, but then I got on with 90 seconds to play.

"It was a nice and very touching moment when I came on. The fans were brilliant to me before, during and after the game today - I really want to thank them all for that."

Wilson's last Premier League appearance before this weekend came against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on September 26.
