Chelsea to step up Theo Hernandez interest?

Chelsea reportedly remain interested in signing AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez in January, despite the Frenchman costing more than Everton's Lucas Digne.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to spend £50m on AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez during the January transfer window.

With Ben Chilwell having been ruled out in the long term due to knee surgery, the Blues will bring in a replacement left wing-back next month.

If reports are to be believed, Everton's Lucas Digne is the most likely arrival, a result of the Frenchman falling out of favour at Goodison Park.

However, according to Calciomercato, the European champions are also deliberating over whether to make a big-money approach for Hernandez.

The report claims that Marina Granovskaia, who oversees Chelsea's transfer business, is not put off by Milan's £50m valuation of the player.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a productive campaign at San Siro, contributing two goals and five assists during his 15 appearances in Serie A. body check tags ::
