Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Lionel Messi's situation at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentina forward is out of contract in the summer and several clubs are attempting to capitalise on his potential free agent status, although the Parisians are keen to extend his contract.

Spanish publication Fichajes reports that the Premier League clubs are interested in the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner as there is a possibility that former club Barcelona will not be able to afford him.

Messi is reportedly refusing to speak to the Camp Nou outfit regardless due to a belief that he was misled by the club's board and club president Joan Laporta.

A move to the MLS has also been mooted, with Inter Miami reportedly increasingly confident of signing Messi.

Talks have already taken place between the Argentinian's father and the club's co-owners. including former Manchester United player David Beckham. body check tags ::
