Thomas Tuchel has issued a response to reports linking Chelsea with Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 33-year-old only joined Barcelona in January, but a recent report suggested that he could be on the move this summer.

Although Xavi is still keen to keep the striker, Barcelona need to offload players to free up space on their wage bill so they can register their summer signings.

Chelsea have been linked with the Gabon international, and ahead of their Premier League opener against Everton, Tuchel has commented on a potential reunion with a player that he once managed at Borussia Dortmund.

"I would be interested in the 79 goals! We will not comment further," the Chelsea boss said.

"There are a lot of names out there, sometimes due to the fact we discuss a lot of names but also sometimes pure speculation. We will not get involved."

Aubameyang has scored 13 goals for Barcelona in 23 appearances, and the former Arsenal player has three years left on his current contract. body check tags ::
