How England could line up against Bulgaria

Sports Mole looks at how England could line up for Monday night's Euro 2020 qualifier against Bulgaria as they look to bounce back from defeat to Czech Republic.

England will be expecting a response from their first qualifying defeat of any kind in 10 years when they take on Bulgaria in Sofia on Monday night.

Gareth Southgate's side were lacklustre in Prague as Czech Republic ended their 43-match unbeaten run in qualifiers, denying them the chance to book their place at Euro 2020 with three games to spare in the process.

A return to winning ways in Bulgaria could see them qualify should Kosovo also fail to win, though, and England go into the game as firm favourites with their hosts still winless in the group so far.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Three Lions could line up for the contest.

Southgate is likely to make changes to his side in the wake of their defeat on Friday night, with England's worst performers in Prague expected to pay with their positions in the team.

Michael Keane, Danny Rose and Declan Rice could be among those to drop out, with Joe Gomez, Ben Chilwell and Harry Winks in line to replace them.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold will also be hopeful of a start at right-back in place of Kieran Trippier, while Mason Mount's spot also appears up for competition despite the Chelsea man impressing more than most on his full debut.

Mount could hold off clubmate Ross Barkley for another start, while the front three could also remain unchanged despite their failure to click last time out.

Captain and star striker Harry Kane is almost certain to lead the line having scored seven goals in five qualifiers so far - including a hat-trick in the reverse fixture against Bulgaria - while Raheem Sterling is also unlikely to be dropped.

Marcus Rashford is the man seemingly knocking hardest on the door for inclusion ahead of Tammy Abraham, although Southgate could keep faith with Jadon Sancho for this one.

Dean Henderson, Tyrone Mings and Fikayo Tomori are still waiting for their England debuts, with the latter most likely to be handed his on Monday night.
