Sports Mole rounds up the afternoon's action in the National League as Forest Green Rovers go top.

Forest Green Rovers went top of the National League table with a 2-1 win over Chester FC this afternoon.

Ross Hannah opened the scoring for visiting Chester on 12 minutes, but the home side responded through Michael Raynes and Keanu Marsh-Brown, who netted two quick-fire goals just after the half-hour mark.

Sammie Szmodics's debut for Braintree Town ended with a winning goal as they beat Macclesfield Town 1-0.

Tyrone Marsh scored for Torquay United but was later sent off as they drew 1-1 with Altrincham, with the equaliser coming from Jake Moult.

Kidderminster Harriers left it late to beat Woking 1-0 at home, and it was Jordan Murphy's 81st-minute goal that gave the home side their first win of the season.

Kingsley James gave Halifax Town the lead against Eastleigh, before goals from Andy Drury and Josh Payne gave the home side the points.

Gateshead got the best of a five-goal thriller against Boreham Wood to move to within a point of the playoff places, while Anthony Dudley scored twice as Guiseley beat Welling United 2-0 at home.

Moses Emmanuel netted his first goal for Bromley as they recorded a 1-0 victory against Lincoln City, while Tranmere Rovers were beaten 1-0 at Prenton Park by Dover Athletic.

Luke Foster cancelled out Jim Stevenson's goal as Southport drew 1-1 with Aldershot Town at Haig Avenue.

Connor Jennings and Wes York scored two apiece as Wrexham beat Barrow 4-1 with David Symington netting a consolation for the visitors.
