Paul Scharner has revealed that he is keen on playing for Hamburg next season.
The 33-year-old joined Wigan Athletic on loan from the German club in January.
"That's my strong ambition," he told Hamburger Morgenpost. "This half-year loan [at Wigan] was a chance to gain match practice.
"Hamburg should remain my club - unless the club does not want me anymore."
Scharner joined Hamburg in the summer of 2012.
