Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that losing the Capital One Cup final to Manchester City on Sunday felt like "shit".

Philippe Coutinho forced the game at Wembley into extra time after cancelling out Fernandinho's goal, but the Reds lost out in a penalty shootout

Yaya Toure clinched the winner after three of Liverpool's spot kicks were saved by Wilfredo Caballero, who was preferred by manager Manuel Pellegrini to number one goalkeeper Joe Hart.

In his post-match press conference, Klopp told reporters: "You have to feel a defeat. You can't say it wasn't important because it was.

"If my press officer would allow me to say shit, I'd say shit. That's normal, but only silly idiots stay on the floor and wait for the next defeat, you have to strike back.

"But you have to feel how it is like this - it's not the best moment."

Liverpool will face City again on Wednesday when the two go head to head at Anfield in the Premier League.
