Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher could reportedly leave the club on loan next season.

Kelleher has risen through the ranks at Liverpool, where he is now the club's backup goalkeeper to Alisson Becker.

The Republic of Ireland International is highly thought of at Anfield, but he has found playing time hard to come by.

Kelleher has been restricted to just 20 appearances during his time with the Merseyside club, keeping 10 clean sheets in that period.

Only three of those appearances have been made this season, highlighting the need for Kelleher to find a club where he can enjoy a run of games.

With his compatriot Gavin Bazunu playing regularly for Southampton, Kelleher's hopes of staking a claim to be Republic of Ireland's number one will rely on him securing first-team football.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool could allow the 24-year-old to leave the club on loan next season.

The report states that the Red may attempt to sign a new backup goalkeeper so that Kelleher can depart on a temporary basis.

Liverpool also have Adrian on their books, but the Spaniard is expected to leave the club when his contract expires in June.

There are a number of sides that are said to be interested in taking Kelleher on loan if Liverpool decides to sanction the deal.

Kelleher, who joined the Reds as a 17-year-old, has a contract with the Merseyside club until the summer of 2026.

After thrashing Liverpool 6-1 on Monday, Liverpool will attempt to claim consecutive victories when they play host to Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp's side are currently sitting in eighth place in the Premier League table, having collected 47 points from their 30 games. body check tags ::
