Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has said that he is "very happy" at Anfield amid suggestions of a potential summer departure for the Colombia international.

The 27-year-old has again been an important player for the Reds during the 2023-24 campaign, making 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in the process.

Diaz has another three years left to run on his contract at Anfield, but there have recently been claims that he could be on the move during the upcoming market.

Barcelona are believed to be one of a number of clubs to have expressed an interest in the South American.

However, Diaz has suggested that he has no plans to seek a summer departure, with the forward predicting "great years" for the club despite the exit of Jurgen Klopp as head coach.

Diaz has been linked with a summer move away from Liverpool

"I have grown a lot. From the beginning of my career to today, I feel that with the passage of days, of years, living each experience in each different team, coming to this great club that is Liverpool, leaves you with a lot of learnings," the Liverpool Echo quotes Diaz as saying.

"You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good team-mate and a good guy. The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.

"Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100%, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I'm always grateful to God for every opportunity."

Diaz made the move from Porto to Liverpool in January 2022, and he has represented the Merseyside outfit on 96 occasions, scoring 24 goals and registering 13 assists in the process.

Diaz seemingly has no plans to seek summer move

"It's no secret, we didn't finish as well as we hoped. For us, it was crucial to win the league and all the competitions we were in. Unfortunately, the results lately could not be achieved," he added in an interview with Liverpool's official website.

"We fell [behind] as a team, but we made a decent season, both individually and as a group. There are many things to improve so we can have a perfect season. But I'm happy and content to be here."

Paris Saint-Germain are another club thought to be interested in his signature, with the French champions preparing to replace Kylian Mbappe, who will leave on a free transfer at the end of next month.

Liverpool have seen their Premier League title hopes evaporate in recent weeks, but they will be bidding to end their campaign on a positive note.

The Reds will travel to Aston Villa on Monday evening before welcoming Wolverhampton Wanderers to Anfield next weekend in what will mark the end of Klopp's time as head coach of the club. body check tags ::
