Ozan Kabak 'wants £80k a week to stay in Premier League'

Ozan Kabak is reportedly holding out for wages of £80,000 to stay in the Premier League following the conclusion of his Liverpool loan spell.

Premier League suitors are reportedly being put off a move for Ozan Kabak due to the Schalke 04 defender's wage demands.

The Turkey international spent the second half of the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Liverpool, starting 13 games in all competitions.

However, the arrival of Ibrahima Konate this week, plus the imminent return to fitness of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, means that Kabak is not needed by Jurgen Klopp on a permanent basis.

Kabak is said to be eager to remain in the English top flight, with Leicester City supposedly interested, but The Sun reports that the 21-year-old is holding out for wages of £80,000 a week.

Any interested suitors would also have to agree a fee with Schalke, where Kabak remains under contract until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
