Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the club have pulled out of the transfer to sign Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.
The Reds had agreed a fee of £8.5m with Harry Redknapp's side for the Frenchman and personal terms were said to have been secured.
Reports had suggested that there was a problem with the 27-year-old's medical, although Rodgers refused to clarify the reason for his side's withdrawal from the bid.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "It's very simple - we've made a decision as a club not to go ahead with the deal. It's unfortunate for the player.
"We're disappointed for the player but there's nothing more to be said and we will move on and look at other targets."
Rodgers announced the news following his side's 1-0 win over Olympiacos in their pre-season clash.
