Sergio Aguero is overjoyed with Manchester City's progress to the Champions League last 16 and thanks the fans for their support.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has said that he is "very proud" of his side for progressing to the last 16 of the Champions League.

The 25-year-old Argentine scored twice for Manuel Pellegrini's team on Tuesday as they beat CSKA Moscow 5-2 at the Etihad Stadium to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

"Very proud of the team and the qualification," he wrote on his official Twitter page. "And thanks to all the people of @MCFC for their support, they deserve this and much more!"

City are currently second in Group D with nine points from four matches, three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
