How Manchester City could line up against Watford

Ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final between Manchester City and Watford, Sports Mole looks at how the Citizens could line up.

Manchester City can become the first English side ever to win a clean sweep of all three domestic trophies on offer if they overcome Watford in Saturday's FA Cup final.

The Citizens ended the Premier League season with 14 wins in a row to lift the title and add to their EFL Cup final success against Chelsea in February.

Despite their recent domination of the English game, City have won the FA Cup once during the Abu Dhabi era - in 2011 when beating Stoke City 1-0 at Wembley Stadium.

Ahead of the 138th FA Cup final, Sports Mole looks at how Pep Guardiola may set out his side.

Out: Claudio Bravo (Achilles)
Doubtful: Fernandinho (knee), Benjamin Mendy (knee)

Fernandinho and Mendy are expected to recover from knee injuries, leaving back-up goalkeeper Bravo as Guardiola's only confirmed absentee.

Mendy has struggled for minutes in another injury-plagued campaign, though, and he is unlikely to get the nod over the reliable Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back.

There will also be a question mark over the fitness of Fernandinho given that he has not been used since injuring his knee on April 24, so Ilkay Gundogan - who has been superb in the second half of the campaign - should continue in the holding role.

Guardiola has a decision to make in attack as the versatile Bernardo Silva can either slot in alongside Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling, or instead drop into a midfield position to open up a space for Leroy Sane or Riyad Mahrez.

With Kevin De Bruyne playing the final 15 minutes against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, Guardiola will be desperate to get him into his starting lineup on Saturday.

At the back, Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte started last time out and are likely to continue their partnership, despite competition from Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones.
