Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that his side can still win the Premier League title despite falling to a second straight home loss.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that his side will keep fighting to haul themselves back into the Premier League title race.

The Citizens have fallen to back-to-back home defeats at the hands of two of their title rivals, being beaten 3-1 by Leicester City last weekend before succumbing to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

Pellegrini insists that he saw an improvement despite the result against Spurs, and believes that his side can overhaul the six-point gap that separates them from leaders Leicester.

"The last two results we had here at home were very bad. We never expected not to win a very important six points but we must continue fighting," he told reporters.

"I saw a very good reaction from the team. We have 36 points more to play for. It is very important to start working again and believe all things can happen."

Pellegrini was unhappy with the performance of referee Mark Clattenburg during the match after he awarded Spurs a controversial penalty that handed the visitors the opening goal at the Etihad.
