Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has indicated that Bernardo Silva will not be leaving the club before the transfer window closes.

The Portugal international has been the centre of transfer speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona, while the Citizens have remained firm in their stance that they want to keep Silva at the club.

Silva, who provided an assist and found the net in Sunday's 3-3 draw with Newcastle United, has also played down transfer rumours by claiming that he is "focused" at Man City.

The club's CEO has also suggested that Silva will not be leaving the club despite Barcelona's interest in the 28-year-old.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Què T'hi Jugues, Soriano said: "It's a little late [in the transfer window] to talk about ins and outs. This story has taken many turns and in the end it has never moved from its starting point."

There is a belief that City will not entertain any offers that fall below their £80m asking price for a player that has three years left on his contract. body check tags ::
