Kobbie Mainoo trained alongside his Manchester United teammates on Monday afternoon ahead of the Champions League clash with Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

The 18-year-old is yet to feature for the Red Devils this season due to an ankle injury that he picked up during the team's preparations for the 2023-24 campaign.

However, he was still able to make a strong impression over the summer, and it is understood that first-team head coach Erik ten Hag views him as an important player this term despite his age.

Mainoo, who has made three first-team appearances for Man United, could now potentially be in the squad for the Champions League contest with Galatasaray.

The teenager was pictured training alongside his teammates on Monday, fuelling suggestions that he is on the verge of making his first appearance of the campaign.

Antony was also present, with Ten Hag confirming during his press conference that the Brazil international could be involved following his return to Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old had been on a leave of absence in Brazil due to the assault allegations levelled at him, but the forward returned to England last week.

There was no sign of Sergio Reguilon, though, according to the Manchester Evening News, with the Spaniard seemingly not part of the session.

Reguilon is yet to be ruled out of the match, although he had been a major doubt due to the issue that forced him to miss the team's last two matches against Crystal Palace.

Altay Bayindir is again expected to be in the squad, and Ten Hag has said that the goalkeeper will need to be given time to adapt to his new surroundings.

The Turkey international is the number two at the club to Andre Onana, but he was surprisingly overlooked for a starting role against Palace in the EFL Cup last week.

"You will see [if Bayindir gets a chance to play soon], but we chose against Crystal Palace in the League Cup to play Andre because both came new in and both have to adapt to the English standard," Ten Hag told reporters. "So that's why we preferred Andre to play in that game.

"It's important for him to use every game in this moment, but yeah, we also have to progress Altay, that's clear. He makes a very good impression in training, he's really developing, progressing. So we're very happy with that and we are convinced we have the two right goalkeepers in our squad to do the job for us."

Ten Hag has also confirmed that Lisandro Martinez will undergo a second operation on a foot problem, with the defender set to be on the sidelines for the next two to three months. body check tags ::
