Nigel Pearson: 'We were beaten by a very good side'

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson admits that he can have few complaints after seeing the Foxes beaten 3-1 by a "very, very good" Manchester United side at Old Trafford.

Nigel Pearson admitted that he could have few complaints after watching his Leicester City side succumb to a 3-1 defeat at Manchester United on Saturday.

The Foxes claimed a famous 5-3 win against United in September, but were outclassed at Old Trafford as three first-half goals saw the hosts cruise to victory.

Pearson felt that Robin van Persie's opener was offside, but otherwise accepted that they were beaten by a better team and has immediately turned his attention to next week's 'season-defining' game against Crystal Palace.

"It was a difficult game for us," he told reporters. "We are playing against very good side, to concede three goals in a really short space of time put us up against it.

"The first goal is offside but I can't complain too much as we were beaten by a very very good side. In the second half we have at least shown a bit more resilience and managed the ball a bit better. I think that was our problem in the first half."

He added on the Palace game: "Those are the games that are going to define our season, not necessarily games against likes of Manchester United."

The result left Leicester rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, three points from safety and a further three behind Palace.
