Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has slammed Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler for what he perceives as double standards by the veteran reporter.
The England international starred in United's 2-2 draw with Cardiff City on Sunday, opening the scoring in the 15th minute before turning provider to set up Patrice Evra to head home his team's second.
However, Rooney's goal was preceded by a moment of controversy after the 28-year-old was booked for appearing to kick out at Jordan Mutch, with Tyler asserting in commentary that the former Everton starlet was fortunate to remain on the pitch.
Having watched footage of the clash, Rooney took to social networking site Twitter to question why the 68-year-old was not as vocal in his condemnation of Gary Medel after the Chilean appeared to strike Marouane Fellaini in the face.
The striker said: "Just watched game back. I agree mine was bad tackle and ref dealt with it. And Martin Tyler didn't shut up about it all game.
"Then someone slaps someone in face and he doesn't speak a word about it. I like Martin but that's poor from him."
Malky Mackay's men ultimately salvaged a point from the encounter in Wales, as Kim Bo-Kyung headed a late equaliser to add to Frazier Campbell's earlier strike.
