Fiorentina director Daniele Prade has said that the club are yet to receive an offer for Sofyan Amrabat despite the ongoing speculation surrounding the midfielder's future.

Manchester United continue to be heavily linked with the Morocco international, while a recent report claimed that Liverpool had been in touch to discuss a possible move before the end of the transfer window.

Prade has revealed that Amrabat is keen to leave the Purples this summer, but the club are yet to receive an offer for his services.

"The situation is clear," Prade told the club's official YouTube channel. "He wants to join a top club and we want to satisfy him, but if we receive no offers, he will stay with us. We don't have a player like him in the team."

The 26-year-old played a key role in Morocco reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, with his form at the competition leading to suggestions that he would join Barcelona in January.

Amrabat ultimately remained with Fiorentina, and he enjoyed a strong 2022-23 campaign for the club, making 49 appearances in all competitions, helping them to reach the final of the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League.

Man United have made three signings this summer, bringing in Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund, while Jonny Evans could potentially soon sign a short-term deal.

However, it is believed that head coach Erik ten Hag is determined to sign a defensive midfielder before the end of the transfer window, with Fred moving on.

Ten Hag said on Friday that Man United would be ready to "strike" in the transfer market if the right opportunity arrived over the next couple of weeks.

Donny van de Beek continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, while Brandon Williams and Eric Bailly have allegedly both been told that they are free to leave.

There have been suggestions that Amrabat is unlikely to cost more than £30m as his contract is due to expire next June, but Man United are currently struggling to afford a deal based on the rules surrounding Financial Fair Play.

Liverpool announced on Friday that they had completed the signing of Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, but the Reds are expected to move for another central midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

Amrabat has allegedly made it clear to interested clubs that Man United are his first choice, but Ten Hag's side now face missing out on the Moroccan, potentially to their biggest rivals.

Fiorentina are due to begin their 2023-24 Serie A campaign against Genoa on Saturday evening, and Amrabat could be involved despite the speculation surrounding his future. body check tags ::
