Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to hijack Manchester United's move for Atalanta BC striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Having seemingly been priced out of potential deals for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Man United have made Hojlund one of their top targets after being impressed with his first season as an Atalanta player.

After arriving from FC Copenhagen last summer, Hojlund went on to score 10 goals and provide four assists in 34 games for the Italian side.

Hojlund has also showcased his goalscoring ability at international level, netting six goals in as many appearances for Denmark.

A recent report suggested that the Red Devils were preparing to step up their pursuit by making their first official offer.

However, according to L'Equipe, PSG are also interested in the 20-year-old and are ready to hijack Man United's bid.

The French champions have already strengthened their attacking options with the permanent additions of Marco Asensio, Xavi Simons, Lee Kang-in and Hugo Ekitike following Lionel Messi's departure.

However, PSG are still looking to add further reinforcements in the final third, and Hojlund has been identified as a potential target.

After keeping tabs on the player's progress, PSG's sporting director Luis Campos is ready to sanction a move for the Danish striker.

There is a belief that PSG are willing to pay €60m (£51.9m) to prise Hojlund away from Atalanta, but the Italian club are likely to demand a higher fee.

While there has been a suggestion that they would accept €70m (£60.1m), Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has stated that the club should hold out for the highest fee possible.

Gasperini said that he hoped the club would get "€80m (£69.3m), €90m (£77.9m) or €100m (£86.6m)" if they were to part ways with Hojlund this summer.

With the youngster under contract until the summer of 2027, Atalanta are in a strong negotiating position when it comes to discussing a transfer fee. body check tags ::
