Matthijs de Ligt future

MD

Ajax prodigy Matthijs de Ligt is one of the most in-demand young players on the continent ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window.

The Netherlands international became the youngest player to captain a side in the knockout stages of the Champions League when helping Ajax to overcome Real Madrid at the age of 19 years and 186 days.

Despite his tender years, De Ligt is believed to be wanted by a number of Europe's top clubs, including the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester City.

The question now is whether Ajax can fend off the growing interest in their latest up-and-coming star.
