Sports Mole previews the Premier League clash between Norwich City and Watford, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Norwich City host Watford at Carrow Road as the two bottom-ranked sides in the Premier League table face off on Friday.

Both teams have struggled for results and have amassed just 12 points between them after 11 league games so far this term.

Match Preview

Norwich are in awful form, with their 2-0 loss against Brighton & Hove Albion last time out meaning they have now gone six games without a win since their stunning 3-2 victory over reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in mid-September, losing five of those.

The Canaries have scored just twice in that run, and have conceded a whopping 14 times, including five in a shock 5-1 home reverse against fellow newly-promoted side Aston Villa.

Daniel Farke's side started the season promisingly, impressing with their swashbuckling, attacking performances in August despite only picking up one win in that time.

However, since then, the injuries have piled up for Norwich and their performances have dropped off, with the Canaries looking particularly off-colour in games not against the top six.

Watford, though, are having an even worse season. The Hornets are yet to win a Premier League game this term and sit rock-bottom of the league standings.

Only their five draws leave them with some hope of reviving their campaign, although they remain six points adrift of safety.

Additionally, Watford have hit just six goals from their 11 league games this term - a concerningly low figure - while they have the league's third-worst defensive record, although this is skewed somewhat by an 8-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City in September.

Quique Sanchez Flores's side were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in their last game, with Gerard Deulofeu's consolation from the penalty spot providing the team's second league goal in their last seven games.

Team News

Norwich head coach Farke will be glad that his injury list has reduced significantly since September, when he was into double figures for unavailable players.

He is still short of options in the centre of defence, however, with Christoph Zimmermann, Grant Hanley and long-term absentee Timm Klose all ruled out.

However, midfielder Mario Vrancic could be set to make a return after illness and is back in training.

Watford, on the other hand, are experiencing an injury crisis of their own. Strikers Troy Deeney and Danny Welbeck have both been ruled out, along with fellow forward Ismaila Sarr and midfielder Domingos Quina.

Defender Craig Cathcart and midfield duo Tom Cleverley and Etienne Capoue are all also in a race to be fit for the trip to Norwich.

Norwich City possible starting lineup:
Krul; Aarons, Tettey, Godfrey, Lewis; Trybull, McLean; Buendia, Stiepermann, Hernandez; Pukki

Watford possible starting lineup:
Foster; Janmaat, Kabasele, Dawson, Mariappa, Masina; Deulofeu, Doucoure, Chalobah, Pereyra; Gray

We say: Norwich City 1-1 Watford

Both sides will be desperate for a win and a vital three points to aid them in their quest to stave off relegation but, with the pair in such woeful form, it is difficult to separate them and a frustrating, low-scoring draw could be the result.
